USAMDT of Northeast Ohio was established to help companies like yours identify, manage and avoid workplace substance abuse problems while creating safer, more productive and more satisfying work environments. Ken and Karen Kitchen co-own the business and they were both born and raised in Northeast Ohio. Each possess science degrees from Hiram College and Purdue University, respectively, and spent the majority of their careers in science-related fields in the Corporate world – manufacturing and pharmaceuticals. When they decided to branch out on their own, they felt that working in the drug testing industry would be meaningful and significant, and it has been. Sadly, drug use has grown and continues to grow in our country and, in some areas, is reaching epidemic proportions. Ohio is one of those places.
Throughout their ten years in the industry, Ken and Karen have developed and demonstrated a passion for the industry. They make it their mission to partner with companies, both large and small, to create and/or implement drug-free workplace programs, consulting and guiding those organizations while taking the burden and workload off their clients’ plates. A unique advantage they offer their customers is that they bring the testing right to them, conducting the testing in the convenience of their own facility. The Kitchens are excited to offer this valuable service, as it not only provides convenience but saves their clients time, money and decreases their liabilities.
As their business continues to grow and evolve, so does the drug testing industry. The advances are significant with respect to testing procedures, new types of tests, and testing methodologies. As different “drugs of choice” emerge, so do new drug tests – both in terms of the drugs that are tested for and how they can be tested. The Kitchens and their staff are highly trained and require ongoing education and training in order to be completely knowledgeable about the drugs they are testing for and the processes at hand. Karen and Ken are specialists in their compliance expertise and testing procedures, with extensive experience serving the Northeast Ohio area and beyond.
