USA Mobile Drug Testing of Northeast Ohio takes workplace safety seriously. Due to the COVID-19 world we are currently living in, we have switched to the Alco Screen test as an initial method to screen for the absence or presence of alcohol when conducting alcohol testing. If there is a positive result on the alcohol screen, we would need to use the breathalyzer, but the Alco Screen method minimizes particles getting into the air versus breathing into the breathalyzer. Taking this precaution amidst the coronavirus pandemic has helped to minimize the risk of contaminating your employees and ours during alcohol tests. The video explains how the Alco Screen tests work as an effective method for an initial alcohol test.
As mentioned in the video, if hand sanitizer touches the Alco Screen stick, it will show up as a positive test result, as shown in the picture below. Hand sanitizer generated a 0.04% blood alcohol level. This outcome would result in waiting 15 minutes before using the breathalyzer, so it is very important hand sanitizer is not on the employees’ hands before using the Alco Screen stick.
