USAMDT is a recognized authority within the drug testing industry. We’re becoming known as an expert training authority too. We offer engaging and comprehensive drug and alcohol testing training courses in several areas.
Collection Specialist training
If you are a self-service drug testing company, we realize how cost-effective that is for your budget. However, it’s a good idea to have your collection technician become a collection specialist! It greatly reduces the risk of unknowingly crossing the lines regarding drug testing regulations in your state.
Moreover, we’d like to take a moment to mention our Drug Testing in a Box program. We supply you with test kits, paperwork used to document the tests, and back you up with a team of experts should you ever need to let an employee go because they tested positive for drug use. We offer your Collection Specialist training as part of that package.
Our comprehensive training course contains all the information needed to accurately and confidently perform drug and alcohol testing. It covers the three most commonly used employee drug testing methods: hair, urine, and oral fluids.
Supervisor training
When operating a drug-free workplace, your management team is your first line of defense. It’s management’s responsibility to observe, report, and initiate reasonable suspicion drug testing if the situation arises.
USAMDT’s supervisor training course consists of:
- Going over your drug-free workplace policy in-depth
- Teaches your management team their specific responsibilities in executing that policy
- A deep dive into how to recognize and deal with employees exhibiting signs and symptoms of drug or alcohol use
Our supervisor training course is designed to engage your management staff from the moment it begins. When people enjoy the way information is brought to them, they absorb it more deeply.
If you’ve operated a drug-free workplace for several years or more, it may be a good idea to run your supervisory personnel through a refresher course. It will boost their confidence level should they need to act on an employee tip or observe possible drug or alcohol impairment with their own eyes.
Designated Employee Representative (DER)
The DER position is mandated when employing a safety-sensitive workforce due to the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) strict drug testing protocol. Non-mandated companies often use a DER as well.
A DER commonly:
- Oversees the drug testing process and makes decisions related to the process
- Promotes a safe and healthy work environment
- Acts as a compliance officer, staying abreast of state and local drug testing regulations
- Represents the company’s commitment to safety, which positively affects company morale
- Streamlines the drug testing process and makes it run efficiently
We teach all the ins and outs of managing your company’s drug testing program. When your newly certified DER completes our training course, they will have gained the knowledge to confidently carry out this role.
