USA Mobile Drug Testing knows time is money, which is why the company is bringing workplace drug testing to businesses nationwide. The rapidly growing franchisor has sold 39 franchises in 81 markets across the country since September 2010 and expects to surpass 100 by the end of 2011.
“We are the first 100 percent mobile drug testing franchise company with a national footprint,” says Jeffrey Sardisco, COO of USA Mobile Drug Testing (USAMDT). “Our certified drug testing services, performed by compliance specialists, bring increased productivity, centralized recordkeeping and lower liability to clients, whether they have five or 75,000 employees. Clients can be assured of complete compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) requirements and other applicable regulations through our Compliance Data Information System. We stand behind our clients in the event they are audited.”
Nearly 75 percent of adult illicit drug users are employed, as are most binge and heavy alcohol users, according to the National Institute on Drug Abuse. These substance-abusing employees are more likely to change jobs frequently, be late or absent from work, involved in a workplace accident or file a workers” compensation claim. Small businesses, which are less likely to have substance abuse programs, are most likely to be an employer of choice for individuals with substance abuse issues. Approximately nine in ten currently-employed illicit drug users and heavy drinkers work for small and mid-sized firms.
“Employee drug and alcohol abuse cost American businesses $81 billion annually. We are providing positive solutions for employers,” says Sardisco. “Our operators and certified technicians have undergone rigorous certification training to meet DOT drug testing and other requirements. They are compliance specialists who assist businesses with their drug-free workplace goals, including pre-employment, for-cause and random drug testing, as well as training to spot the signs of alcohol and drug abuse among employees.”
USA Mobile Drug Testing dispatches certified drug and alcohol testing compliance specialists to businesses. Urine samples are collected and sent to a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services (SAMHSA)-certified laboratory. Each specimen is tested for at least five major substances: THC (Marijuana metabolite), amphetamines, cocaine, opiates and phencyclidine (PCP); but may also be tested for additional substances. Results are sent electronically within 24-72 hours. USAMDT also provides background checks, breath alcohol and DNA testing.
“By using mobile drug testing, employer time and productivity aren’t lost sending an employee or job candidate to an off-site testing facility,” Sardisco says. “Any time a workplace drug testing program can be more convenient, it will be followed more faithfully and employers will see the benefits in terms of fewer accidents, lower workers compensation costs, decreased absenteeism and increased productivity.”
