Mobile vs. Off-Site Drug Testing

Home / Drug Testing / Mobile vs. Off-Site Drug Testing

The vast majority of adults freely admit that they have experimented with some type of illicit drug or prescription drug for which they had no prescription in the past year. Many will use drugs while they are at the workplace. The result is decreased workforce productivity, increased accidents, and increased absenteeism.

Research has shown that companies that have a drug testing program experience more than a 50 percent reduction in the injuries that take place on the job. This reduction is seen within the first two years of the drug program being implemented.

Why are drug testing programs not more widely used? It is because of the time involved. Employers are concerned about productivity. They pay their employees, and they want production from their employees. If their employees need to go off-site in order to take a drug test, this means that employers will pay their employees for time that they are not working.

Additionally, there is the time, effort and expense of developing the drug testing program, not to mention the added expense of paying individuals to maintain and monitor the results of the off-site drug testing program. For this reason, many businesses have seen the benefit of using a mobile drug testing company to test their employees for drug abuse compliance.

One of the benefits that comes from using a mobile drug testing company is that it is 100 percent turnkey. That means that the mobile testing company will take care of everything including developing the drug testing program, managing it, and reviewing and reporting on results. This means that the business owner can focus on what they do, that is running their business.

Mobile drug testing is cost effective. It is time effective. The drug testing lab and all of the staff needed to do the testing come to the business. Employees do not need to take time off from work to go to a lab. It is quick, concise and allows employees to get back to work quickly.

Finally, there is the reliability factor. Mobile drug testing facilities have been trusted by Fortune 500 companies and governmental officials around the world. They are also trusted by sports organizations throughout the whole of America.

Any business that understands and appreciates the value of having a drug-free workplace will want to look into mobile drug testing facilities. The results will be increased productivity, a drastic reduction in workplace accidents, and a drastic reduction in absenteeism.
